Torment
,no edit summary
Torment refers to the highest six levels of difficulty in Diablo 3 (as of [[D3v2]]) and [[Reaper of Souls]]. There are six levels of Torment, officially designated with Roman Numerals, but often expressed by fans as Torment 1 - Torment 6 or abbreviated to T1-T6. The higher levels of Torment do not unlock any additional content; they just increase the difficulty and rewards that first become available on Torment 1.
The Torment difficulties mark the real [[end game]] goal for most players. Only on Torment can the best items ([[Torment-only]]) be found, only on Torment can ingredients of the [[Infernal Machine]] drop, and the general difficulty and rewards accelerate to a pace that experienced players desire. It is a challenge to gear up to survive on Torment, especially for [[Hardcore]] players, but only on Torment do the most valuable items in the game begin to drop, so most players consider the struggle is well worth it.
