Cinder Switch is a crafted two-handed legendary axe that can only be crafted in Reaper of Souls. The Cinder Switch is a slow-attacking two-handed weapon with a legendary property that regularly launches a damaging fireball.

After Patch 2.0.6 this item no longer requires Living Flame or any other Legendary Materials to create.

To create it, find the Plan: Cinder Switch, which can be randomly dropped randomly by any level 70 target.

Crafting[edit | edit source]

Once a player finds the randomly-dropped recipe, Plan: Cinder Switch, and teaches it to the Blacksmith, the item can be created by any character on that account. This item always has a lvl 70 requirement, no matter what level character crafts it.

Crafting Costs:

Patch 2.0.6 controversially[1] removed Legendary Materials, which changed the crafting costs for every level 70 RoS recipe. Prior to that patch Cinder Switch required 1 Living Flame and 0 Deaths Breath.

Legendary Material[edit | edit source]

Legendary Materials were controversially[2] removed in Patch 2.0.6. The following is archived for posterity.

The required legendary material, Living Flame is difficult to obtain without any sources that can be found reliably. Players should farm the Silver Spire level 2 in Act 4 and hope to encounter one of the unique Morlu Casters, or check the Act Four bounties in each new game, looking for one that targets Sao'Thall or Rhau'Kye for a guaranteed chance at the material drop.

  • Morlu Casters. (The Meteor-dropping type.)
