Power Shrine
The Power Shrine is one of the new class of Super Shrines added in Reaper of Souls.
This shrine provides a huge boost to damage for 30 seconds, adding 400% to damage output. That's not just to weapon damage, but to total DPS, literally quadrupling the total damage a character deals. The four-fold increase can be seen in the Character window DPS display.
Blizzcon 2013 Debut[edit | edit source]
The Power Shrine was first seen in the RoS demo at Blizzcon 2013 and was detailed in an report on Diablo.IncGamers.com[1]:
- The Power Shrine boosted my character’s damage by 400% for 30 seconds. It did show up in the Inventory numbers; the first game I got it I checked before and after clicking and my Monk’s displayed damage went from 402.3 DPS to 1609.1 DPS.
- This made little difference in the demo since things are pretty easy on Normal difficulty at lvl 33 in a solo game (the PC demo machines were all single player only, alas) but it could be pretty cool with a big character if you timed it right. Most characters in Diablo 3 are happy with a 25 or 30% damage boost from one of their skills, and that usually lasts 5-10 seconds at most. Thirty seconds of 400% gross damage is insane. That would take your 200k dps char up to 800k dps and would simply melt enemies. Just got to figure a way to get a boss nearby when you pop it.
Shrines in Diablo III[edit | edit source]
Shrines are randomly-located, randomly-spawned objects that characters can click to receive temporary buffs. Shrine effects pass to all players in the area when they are first triggered. All shrine benefits last for 120 seconds, and characters can benefit from multiple different shrines at once. Shrine bonuses and durations do not stack, and hitting a second shrine of the same type will simply reset the time to the full two minute duration.
- Blessed Shrine - Reduces all damage taken by 25% for 120 seconds.
- Empowered Shrine – Increased resource regeneration and reduced cooldowns for 120 seconds.
- Enlightened Shrine - +25% Experience gain from monster kills for 120 seconds.
- Fleeting Shrine – Increased movement speed and adds 25 yards to gold and health orb pickup radius for 120 seconds.
- Fortune Shrine - +25% to Magic Find and Gold Find for 120 seconds.
- Frenzied Shrine - Increases attack speed by 25% for 120 seconds.
Super Shrines in Reaper of Souls[edit | edit source]
This new class of shrines provide huge benefits for just 30 seconds. These were first seen in the Blizzcon 2013 RoS demo and may change in function before the game is released.
- Conduit Shrine - Grants players a zapping electrical property that kills most monsters instantly.
- Consecrated Shrine - Reduces all cooldowns to zero for 30 seconds.
- Power Shrine - Grants 400% bonus to damage output for 30 seconds.
- Shield Shrine - Grants 30 seconds of total immunity to damage and debuffs.
- Speed Shrine - Movement speed increased to maximum for 30 seconds.
