Rend is a Secondary Barbarian skill unlocked at level 5. It's a melee attack that deals considerable bonus damage over time to all enemies within range.

Skill Design
This skill was introduced at Blizzcon 2010. There are currently no visuals available for the skill, and no reports on it from demo players. It was revealed in the skill tree.
Synergies
The following Barbarian passives provide a benefit to Rend, runed or not:
- Bloodthirst - The Barbarian gains life based on the amount of damage he deals always.
- Weapons Master - Provides a damage bonus when the Barbarian is wielding a sword or dagger.
- Berserker Rage - Inflicts additional damage while the Barbarian is at maximum Fury.
- Brawler - Increases the Barbarian's damage when he is swarmed.
Development
Rend debuted at BlizzCon 2010 as a Tier 5 skill, but the Barbarian couldn't level up high enough to select it, so there are no gameplay reports detailing any use of this skill.
Skill tiers were removed for the July 2011 Press Event, and Rend became a level 8 skill, but was soon moved to level 9. The skill system was once again overhauled for the Beta Patch 13, and Bash was classified as a Secondary skill and moved to level 5.
